Why Church Planting?

It’s been said if you reach the cities, you’ll reach the nations. With 83% of the population now living in metropolitan areas, the major population centers in North America are vital mission fields for kingdom growth and influence.

The church-to-population ratio in the United States peaked at one church for every 430 in World War I, but today there is only one church for every 6,194 people here in the United States. One for every 16,214 in Ohio, and 1 for every 60,000 in the city limits of Cincinnati.

Throughout the Bible we see a clear pattern of God calling and sending His followers. And God wants to send you as well. As believers, we are a people sent by God to carry the message of God’s love, mercy and redemption through His son Jesus Christ. That is missions at its core.

"As believers, we are a people sent by God to carry the message of God’s love, mercy and redemption through His son Jesus Christ. That is missions at its core."

The question then becomes how do we best go about carrying that message. We believe the evidence is clear we are sent to reach new people best through starting new churches where people are living. Since 83% of our population lives in metropolitan areas, we have decided to take responsibility for our city, Cincinnati. Through a coordinated, national strategy called Send North America, our goal is to see new churches started all across the Queen City. We believe the best thing we can do for the fifty-two communities throughout Cincinnati is to launch communities of believers within those areas to reflect the love of Jesus to that community.
